joy2bfree and i have so enjoyed meeting over 70 of the posters here on jwd in the last few months.
this has brought us even closer to many, yet the things i learned about each made me even more concerned about others here.
i hope each is getting what they need from this cyberpub we visit.

as most of you already know, the jehovah's witnesses are covering an article in their august kingdom ministry to be discussed the weeks of 8/19 and 8/26 which details how they are to shun and avoid those who are no longer members of their organization, even immediate family members.. .
undoubtedly this article has been written to reinforce to the rank&file jehovah's witnesses the shunning policy, so as to tighten the ranks and prevent members from having the opportunity to learn the abundant contradictions and hypocrisies found within watchtower doctrine and practice from any who may have left.. this policy also serves to divide families and attempt to shame or abuse those whom have chosen to no longer be jehovah's witnesses, for whatever reason.. that much is obvious.
in recent days this topic has been discussed in detail in various threads.
Reborn, Thanks for posting that KM. MAN.....It is going from bad to unbelievably worse!!! I am not being shunned at the present but expect that my Dad, who is an Elder, will have no choice. My wife Tink however, has a boatload of brothers and sisters who shun us. Some have only recently talked with us only because my Wifes Uncle is in a Nursing home suffering from Alzheimers. He was never a witness but was being taken care of at home by Tink's sister. We can now expect the total silent treatment Thanks to this friggin' CULT. I'm sorry for your situation with your nephew. Tink is in the same situation with her nieces and nephews. It's breaking her heart, and I know yours is breaking also. We're greatful for this safe place with all of our great friends. It has eased the pain.

i just wanted to tell all of you how very much you mean to me.
i want to especially thank my husband wild turkey, for finding this place and showing me the light.
he was so encouraging to me when i first came into this room.

i thought i'd hit it several times before...as i have been thru the divorce over the past couple of years...lost all my so-called friends...lost my belief in what i thought was the "truth"....and now my own loving daughter, being the good little dub she is has told me she doesn't want me to walk her down the aisle at her wedding.
she told me today at lunch.
i almost threw up.
Hey Bonezz. I don't know how I missed this post, but better late than never. My heart goes out to you and many like you in that same situation. I 'm glad to hear that you made a choice to go to the wedding and to tape it. To miss such a wonderful event as your daughters wedding would be terrible. I wish the best for you in the future. Back when I lived in Ct. and I was in the Borg, my friend's(at the time) daughter married a guy who's parents had DA'ed them selves some time earlier. The wedding was planned many months in advance, so the DA'ed parents had time to get back in so they could be a part of the wedding. I was asked to tape the wedding and reception, and I recently watched it with my wife. When they showed the mother dancing with her son it was just heart breaking to see her crying. Most thought they were tears of joy, even I did at the time. Upon reviewing it however, and with the knowledge that soon after the wedding they both sent another letter DA'ing themselves, I realized she was crying because she knew that after the wedding it would go back to them being forgotten and shunned. She has a grandson now that she has never met in person and that was over 8 years ago. Your situation sounds like your not DA'ed or DF'ed so at least you'll be there and hopefully if grandchildren are in the future, you'll be able to be a part of their life. Thanks Nikita. My Aunt raised Collies and Buster was one of the last ones she had after she stopped breeding them. I've got more pic's of me growing up. No nudies that I'm aware of....LOL...but I got one of me on my first day fishing that's pretty funny if anyone is interested....=:-)>

Your comments were very well said. I was glad to get a chance to speak up at the end. I only regret having had to shorten it, due to time running out. The incident actually spanned over about three months. During those months, we had visits at the door by the elders and my wife had numerous phone calls from the elders trying to force her or myself to come to a comittee meeting. I told them, one time and one time only that I was doing the best that I could to take care of my wife's best interest. She has a mood disorder called bipolar and was being hospitalized to get her medication right. She was going through a tough time at that moment dealing the loss of her father's suicide. Her health was the most important thing for me to protect at that time. She was in NO condition to go before a body of elder, and undergo a inquistion. They totally ignored my request and finally gave me and my wife a ultimatum to show up at a specific time or they will consider us as disassociating ourselves. So we took them up on their offer. The rummor going around town was that we wrote a letter to the body of elders, but that was a lie. There is more to the story, but that's pretty much it, in a nutshell.
I thought what you did, by going on that radio show, will help any j.w. listener to know how families are being distroyed. My wife has a large family and still has many that call themselves active witnesses. Their association with us at present is limited to the care her uncle that is suffering from Alzheimers desease. We realize that when her uncle passes, our communication will stop.
Thanks again for giving me the opportunity to get a few words in. I hope you'll have more opportunity to get on another radio show. If you do, please keep me in mind and email me. I'd love to get on and finish the story.

jw attitudes are not what they used to be in watch tower land, and theyre changing rather quickly.
in fact, many here have stated that they expect the societies attitude to go mainstream some day.. compared to the time of my tenure as a jehovahs witness, the wtbts is already there; at least the perks are getting better, less window washing and cut-rate travel in the company of persons that guarantee a preferred profile.. to illustrate, check out the link.
apparently, just before the imminent destruction of this old, weary, wicked system of things takes place, jehovahs witnesses (in good standing) might as well create an industry and enjoy discovering what was once considered the devils playground while they urgently wait for jehovah to spring the big a and prang all the householders that should have been preached to while jehovahs publishers were out having a ball.. im all for a good time but a little skeptical about that twin towers complex tour though.. .
Is That Bluejeans he is wearing, and is that a women wearing slacks advertizing free Field Service Bags? I didn't know they loosened up the dress code. Even so, I hated field service and changing the dress code won't change me...LOL.

i've read alot of great posts that contain experiences, opinions, and facts that show what the wts has as an ageneda.
my own experiences and observations are as follows:.
mind conrol: the wts weapon of choice to keep their ranks within their grasp so as not to influence the rest.
